The Jacob Street School of Storytelling is an intensive three-day workshop for people whose work centers on the spoken story, whether it be ancient myth or the latest events in the world. We are especially interested in people with a deep experience of story – actors, playwrights, performers, speakers and educators – who are willing to take a good and hard look at what they are doing and how they can do it better.
Admission to the workshop is limited to twelve participants. Our intent is to assemble a group of people with diverse talents, skills and backgrounds that will work together to help each other develop their craft. This year’s workshop, offered for the first time, is a laboratory, exploring what is possible in the teaching and crafting of story.
The workshop structure includes whole group sessions with the teachers, one-on-one coaching and work in smaller groups. Participants will also have the chance to work with one another and receive feedback from their peers.
